Chia (Salvia hispanica) seeds are oilseeds, often known as pseudo-cereals, which contain a variety of nutrients, including macro and micronutrients, well health aids; consequently, they could be classified nutraceuticals food. The wonderful source phenolic compounds like rosmarinic acid, caffeic protocatechuic acids, quercetin, myricetin. According to studies, chia have high nutritious content protein (18–24%), fiber (30–34%), fatty acids. also minerals vitamins shown beneficial effects in the treatment hypertension, diabetes, dyslipidaemia, acting an antioxidant, anti-anxiety, laxative, anti-depressant, analgesic, strengthen immune system. Due its presence minerals, lipids (omega-3), fibers, proteins, antioxidants seed benefits, it has now grabbed attention many food industries educators. present review article highlights nutritional composition, phytochemical profile, therapeutic potentials cardio-protective, diabetes-controlling, boosting, antioxidant action detail.
